Over the years, the Ocean Posse team has listened to your feedback and your desires and has now customized an Ocean Posse worldwide Insurance Plan for all of you.  Yes, this includes all our Canadian members who have had challenges in the past.  Your country of origin will no longer matter.  Your flag of origin will also no longer matter.  Your navigation restrictions will be reduced and where you can go increased.  Troubles going to Columbia, this will no longer be the case.  Your old carrier wanted a new survey after 2 or 3 years, or worse, every year and did not care you were in Gambier Islands with no haul out facility or surveyor there?  You now get 5 years on your survey saving you significant costs.  Weeks to months of endless underwriting, we have this down to 3 days or less in most cases. Did you need higher limits for New Zealand and then forced to purchase another policy, only to be forced to cancel when you left.  This plan covers up to $5 million for P & I.  This policy will provide peaceful sailing with minimal, if none at all, mandates.  Single handed sailing at times and your old carrier would not cover you, we have resolved this too!  We have logged every concern our members have voiced over the years and with this plan, attempted to resolve all of them.   Here are just a few of the benefits put together, exclusively for Ocean Posse members:

• Virtually GUARANTEED ISSUE.  Note, any application can still be denied but this plan is designed to accept all in our association.  Most of the reasons anyone has been denied in the past will either be resolved or a custom solution put in place to get you covered.
• 15% off discount on total premium!
• Premium freeze in the second year.
• All policies will get an additional 5% off in year 3 with no claims.
• This is an association plan that we must take care of and keep premiums low by minimizing claims.  This plan at the discounted rate is only available to members who have been with the Ocean Posse for 1 year.  Note, if you are new, you can still apply and get covered and then after 1 year, receive all the benefits and be added to our insurance pool.  We are doing this to help minimize our claims risk.  Our seasoned sailors tend to have fewer claims and the only way this master plan of lower rates works is to keep claims down to a minimum.  Our community of conscientious sailors will be driving this plans success.  If we can keep our claims low, we will all win.  If our claims are high, this plan will terminate.  Historically, members of the Ocean Posse have always had low claims, so we feel we are positioned to succeed.
• Our insurance agency, Voyager Marine Insurance, in operation since 1990, specializes in marine insurance and has approached the marine insurance carriers with this customized plan.  The owner is a fellow sailor with 2 circumnavigations and has been in our shoes before.  With extra vigilance, he has negotiated on our behalf and will be there to discuss all options, concerns, upgrades, etc.  Many of our members are currently insured by them and they will receive the discount at their renewal and are automatically in the plan and premium pool.

  To get insured, here are your steps:

• Fill out the minimized form following this introduction.
• When you complete your information and select your coverages, you will see your low premium instantaneously.  What has been designed for you is very common coverage plan.  Note, customization to meet your exact needs should you need higher coverages, etc. is easy.  Just reach out to the staff at Voyager Marine Insurance, staff@4voyager.com.  They will adjust your policy, increase limits further, add single handed sailor’s endorsement, etc.
• If that works for you with coverages and premium, you can enter credit card information right there to complete the process.  Note you can also fund with PayPal, Venmo, check or wire transfer with no service fees.
• Lastly, make sure you do the following:
  • Upload your survey.  This will need to be no older than 5 years.
  • Upload anything else that helps build your file, showing you are taking care of your yacht.
    • Rigging service invoices
    • Recent photos of haul out, fresh paint, etc.
  • If you have anyone else who can be operating your yacht, please have them fill out the Boaters Resume

Submit your subjectives.  These are documents that tell the insurance carrier what you plan to do in a hurricane or that your survey recommendations have been completed, etc.

Lastly, remember all is reversable if you encounter any changes after you process so enjoy the short application and know, you are in good hands.
